Cologne striker Lukas Podolski has reportedly rejected the riches of Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in order to secure a dream summer transfer to Arsenal.
The Germany international has been attracting plenty of interest this season after firing 17 goals in 22 appearances for club and country.
Arsenal have been linked with Podolski for a number of months, and it has been reported that Arsene Wenger has captured his signature in a deal worth £10.9 million.
However, the Gunners were not the only team in for the 26-year-old, with mega-rich Anzhi also reported to be keen to sign Podolski.
According to the Daily Express, Anzhi offered Podolski the opportunity to earn £40 million over the course of a four-year contract - a weekly salary of around £200,000.
The German, though, instead opted to sign for the Gunners and has cited personal development over the pursuit of money as a key reason for moving to north London.
Podolski will stand to earn half of what was tabled by Anzhi when he joins Arsenal in the summer.
