Striker Nikica Jelavic scored on his full debut and his first appearance at Goodison Park as Everton made it 10 matches unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham.

After two substitute appearances the Croatia international opened his account just 77 minutes into his Toffees' career, having joined from Rangers in January, with the decisive first-half goal.

Tottenham were a shadow of the side which had blazed a trail through the Barclays Premier League, only coming alive after the break, but a third successive defeat puts pressure on their third place with Arsenal playing on Sunday.
