Tottenham will reportedly contest Arsenal for the signature of Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud when the transfer window opens once again in the summer.
Giroud's 17 goals in Ligue 1 this season have seen René Girard's mount a serious challenge for the French title, and they remain just one point behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
The 25-year-old has also scored once for France this term - having been granted his debut for Les Bleus by Laurent Blanc during a friendly against the USA last November.
This potent form appears to have alerted a number of clubs to the talents of Giroud, and Arsenal and Spurs seem to be making the early running for the French forward.
The Gunners have already reportedly completed the signing for German striker Lukas Podolski, and the capture of Giroud would serve to further reinforce Wenger's goalscoring ranks.
Spurs, meanwhile, could also do with bolstering their forward options, with Emmanuel Adebayor's loan deal expiring at the end of the season.
