Arsene Wenger hailed Arsenal's character as they came from behind to snatch yet another last-gasp victory in a thrilling 2-1 victory over Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium.
It was the fourth Barclays Premier League game that Arsenal have come from behind to win and they looked set to blow their chance to move within one point of bitter rivals Tottenham when they wasted a number of chances in the second half. Robin van Persie had equalised Hatem Ben Arfa's opener before Thomas Vermaelen scored in the 95th minute to seal a vital win.
"It was an exceptional night because the pleasure is even more intense when you win in the final minute of the game when you have given everything," Arsenal manager Wenger said. "We won in the last minute at Sunderland, Liverpool and now Newcastle. That shows we have absolute commitment."
