Arsenal have been put on alert after Rennes manager Frederic Antonetti confirmed Gunners target Yann M’vila will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

M’Vila has been on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s radar for some time while he has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past.

However Antonetti has publicly admitted for the first time that M’Vila, who has three years remaining on his current deal, won’t be at the club once the current season ends.

"Yann M'Vila won't be a Stade Rennais player next season," Antonetti revealed to Radio Monte Carlo.

The promising defensive midfielder has flourished for his side this season and made 33 appearances and is also a mainstay of Laurent Blanc’s French national squad.

However the 21-year-old found himself in hot water last year after he was caught in the middle of a public scandal involving two female escorts.

In November M’Vila’s Rennes team-mate Kader Mangane revealed that the talented youngster would ‘join Real Madrid or Arsenal next summer’.

However the player himself has been less forthcoming when discussing his future, insisting that he would like to focus on playing for France in the upcoming European Championships before deciding where his future lies.
