Del Piero agent: No contact yet

The agent of Juventus legend Alessandro del Piero says he has received no contact from English clubs regarding his client, despite report interest from Arsenal.

This term in Turin is set to be Del Piero's last with Juve, having played 693 games for the Old Lady over a career lasting 19 seasons.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are considering a move for the 37-year-old as his time with the Bianconeri heads towards its conclusion, although it would appear Arsene Wenger has yet to make contact.

"There is no direct contact with any English clubs, but our position is to listen to anyone who might be interested in him and then decide what is best," Del Piero's agent and brother Stefano told Tutto Juve.

"I think it would be very difficult to see him playing in Italy and wearing a shirt other than that of Juventus."

Investing in players past their prime is far from a characteristic move by Wenger, although the Arsenal boss is expected to bring in goalscoring reinforcements during the summer, and Del Piero could be one of them.

Arsenal have already reportedly completed the signing of German striker Lukas Podolski from Cologne, as Wenger looks to ease the burden on captain Robin van Persie.

The Holland international has scored 33 goals in 38 games in all competitions for the Gunners this term, while he has also contributed 11 assists.
