Blackburn manager Steve Kean believes his side have the confidence to pull themselves well clear of the relegation zone and should now be targeting the teams above them.

A 2-0 win over Sunderland at Ewood Park moved Rovers six points clear of the bottom three and, having picked up their first clean sheet of the season last time out at Wolves, another shut-out meant Rovers kept consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time since since August 2010.

"Not only have we got back-to-back wins but back-to-back clean sheets. We have worked hard on that aspect," Kean said. "I felt when we cleared that one off the line (by Martin Olsson) I was thinking 'give us a another clean sheet' and now we have some daylight."
