QPR v Liverpool
Loftus Road; Premier League; Wednesday March 21; KO 2000
Kenny Dalglish will be without Craig Bellamy, who has sat out the last two games with a knock. Glen Johnson will also be missing has he has not been able to recover from a niggling hamstring injury.
Johnson’s right-back replacement Martin Kelly picked up a knock in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Stoke City on Sunday, but Dalglish expects 21-year-old to be fit for the trip to London.
Mark Hughes should be able to recall Adel Taarabt to his struggling side after missing the controversial loss at Bolton Wonderers, which dropped them into the relegation zone.
DJ Campbell has only just returned to training and is unlikely to be ready for the tie, while another striker, Heidar Helguson, is still a month away from full fitness.
Suarez: Downing has been ‘unlucky’
Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has revealed his happiness at Stewart Downing scoring his second Reds goal, claiming the winger has been unlucky up to now.
The former Aston Villa man scored the winner at Anfield on Sunday, as Kenny Dalglish’s side knocked Stoke City out of the FA Cup.
Suarez scored the first in that game, his first for a month, and he believes his colleague will now end his unlucky streak and show the real quality he has seen in training.
“I think Stewart has been a bit unlucky this season, we know what a good player he is,” the Uruguayan told the official Liverpool website.
“He gets on well with the rest of his teammates and he's proved himself both with Aston Villa and the England team. He creates problems for defenders and he adds variety.
“It was a good time for him to get on the mark because it will boost his confidence greatly, and put an end to the unlucky streak he'd been having of finding the 'keeper or hitting the woodwork. We're all happy for him.”
The Reds will be buoyant after securing their second trip to Wembley of the season and an FA Cup semi-final with either Everton or Sunderland.
The win on Sunday followed on from the 3-0 battering of the Toffees in last Tuesday with Steven Gerrard scoring hat-trick.
