Inter Milan have made Liverpool target Mauricio Isla a summer transfer priority, according to the club's technical director.

TalkSPORT reports how the Udinese utility man has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs, with his ability to play anywhere across defence or midfield leaving no shortage of potential suitors.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has been heavily linked with a move for Isla as he looks to further strengthen his Anfield ranks when the transfer window reopens in June.

However, Liverpool will now face competition from the Serie A giants after Marco Branca confirmed his club's intentions to try and bring the player to the San Siro.

"Isla is a very interesting, very good player who has played at a high level for years in the Italian league," he said. "He is one of our key target markets for next season.

"But there is no formal negotiations with Udinese for his transfer yet."

If Liverpool still hold aspirations to bring Isla to the Premier League, they will need to move swiftly in order to see off competition from Inter.

When recently questioned about potential summer transfer targets, Dalglish seemed reluctant to divulge any information, but assured Liverpool fans that money would be made available for further acquisitions.
