Arsenal are set to confirm the £10.9million signing of Lukas Podolski after the striker completed a medical with the Gunners medical staff.
The Evening Standard are reporting that the German international is poised to complete his move to the Emirates Stadium early next week, despite Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger denying a deal has been done.
There has been a lot of talk regarding the 26-year-old’s future and the report claims that, now all medical considerations are taken care of, his current club Cologne are planning to hold a press conference next week to announce the deal.
Podolski will reportedly sign a four-year deal worth around £100,000-per-week, but not all the details have been finalised, although they are minor factors and not expected to delay the process a great deal.
The striker is currently enjoying his most prolific season in the Bundesliga, scoring 16 goals already this term, but he is currently serving a ban after being sent off in Cologne’s recent win over Hertha Berlin.
Were he to join Arsenal, Podolski would line up next to fellow Germany international Per Mertesacker.
