The agent of Jackson Martinez has denied a deal has been done to take the Colombian international to Liverpool.

Sky Sports have reported that a deal being done between the Anfield club and the striker’s club Jaguares has been mooted in Portugal.

Martinez’s agent has reportedly confirmed that Liverpool were tracking the powerful goal scorer on the past, but his recent comments denied any deal has been done with the Reds and Kenny Dalglish would have to wait until the end of the season if he wants to land him.

“This is not true,” said Diego Cativa to Ojogo when asked if there was a deal in place.

“Until the end of the season, there will be no developments on the future of Jackson.”

Martinez has a good reputation in South America after impressive performances in last year’s Copa Libertadores where his side made the quarter-finals, with him scoring three goals.

The 25-year-old is having a good season for Jaguares in the Mexican Primera Division, having scored 17 goals in just 24 starts.

The report also claims that there has been no discussion with Porto regarding a move to Portugal in the summer
