Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will target Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila this summer, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The France midfielder is expect to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.
And, with Arsenal seemingly looking to get their business done early this summer, they're looking towards M'Vila to kick-start their summer spending at the end of the season.
Despite the impressive form of Alex Song, and the expected return of Jack Wilshere, Wenger feels recruiting an out-and-out holding midfield player would help plug the gap in Arsenal's midfield.
The club have both Real Madrid and Inter Milan for company in their pursuit of M'Vila though, and they might also take a look at Anderlecht's Lucas Biglia if the price for the Rennes star becomes too great.
The pair would join a busy Arsenal midfielder which already includes Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky and Abou Diaby.
M'Vila would be the second proposed major signing of the summer, with German international Lukas Podolski expected to join the ranks in north London.
