Liverpool are reportedly planning a sensational summer move for Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor, and could beat the north London outfit to a permanent deal for the Togolese striker.
Adebayor is currently enjoying a fruitful loan spell with Spurs, having signed on a season-long deal from Manchester City last summer.
The 28-year-old has scored 14 goals in 28 appearances for Spurs this season, while he has also contributed an impressive 11 assists.
Harry Redknapp has made no secret of his desire to retain the services of Adebayor come the end of the current campaign, and Spurs are seemingly likely to formalise their interest in the summer.
However, according to Metro, Liverpool are currently ahead of Spurs in the race for the former Arsenal forward, and Anfield now appears his most likely destination.
Goalscoring reinforcements are likely to be a summer priority for Kenny Dalglish, with Liverpool having been particularly poor in front of goal this season.
Luis Suarez is Liverpool's highest scorer in the Premier League this term, with only seven strikes to his name.
