Manchester United are reportedly on the trail of the latest starlet to come out of Belgium, 15-year-old David Henen.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Anderlecht prospect has been attracting admiring glances from a number of Europe’s elite clubs, but Sir Alex Ferguson’s club are in poll position to snap him up.
Henen is the latest in a series of talented young Belgian players to be linked, or move to, the Old Trafford club and the Premier League.
Stars such as Thomas Vermaelen, Moussa Dembele and Romelu Lukaku have already made the switch, while young Genk winger Kevin de Bruyne and ‘keeper Thibault Courtois have signed for Chelsea but have been loaned out initially.
Other stars such as Lille’s Eden Hazard and Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen have continually been linked with moves to the Premier League, in what seems to be a rich period for Belgian youth systems.
The young Anderlecht striker was actually born in Luxembourg and was signed by Standard Liege as a 12-year-old before moving to their Jupiler Pro League rivals recently.
