Roma have moved to dismiss speculation that they have sounded out Liverpool regarding the proposed summer transfer of Luis Suarez.
There have been rumours that Suarez's time on Merseyside could be coming to an end after a number of controversies this season, the most notable being his eight-game ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
Roma, though, have responded to reports linking Suarez with a move to the Italian capital, and claim not have have made contact with Liverpool regarding the 25-year-old.
"There is no negotiation going on for Suarez," Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini told Radio Mana Mana.
"Even though he's had a few problems recently, he's a really strong player, but these are only transfer rumours."
Liverpool, meanwhile, are reportedly planning a summer overhaul following a disappointing season in the Premier League, and Dirk Kuyt could become the most notable casualty.
The Dutch forward move to Anfield from Feyenoord in the summer of 2006 and remains a popular figure with fans but, according to the Daily Mail, will be sold in the summer.
