La Florio plays down Arsenal link

AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy will not be joining Arsenal this summer, according to the player's agent Roberto La Florio.

Sky Sports reports how the 19-year-old has attracted attention from the Premier League giants, after turning in an assured performance against the Gunners in the Champions League this season.

Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of bright young talent, and as he looks to strengthen his Emirates Stadium squad when the transfer window reopens in June, has been credited with an interest in El Shaarawy.

Having been eased into the senior fold at the San Siro, with Milan reluctant to ask too much of the talented teenager too soon, the Italian U21 international is tipped for a bright future in Serie A, after joining Milan from Genoa last summer.

However, suggestions linking El Shaarawy with another move - this time to north London - have been quashed by his representative.

"Arsenal were watching him before his arrival in Milan," La Florio explained. "But the Rossoneri have signed him and will not be letting him go.

"He would be happy to stay at Milan."
