Fulham forward Clint Dempsey would be a great signing for Arsene Wenger, according to former Arsenal star Stewart Robson.
Speaking to talkSPORT earlier this afternoon, the fans' favourite praised the contribution of the American this term, who netted his 22nd goal of the season in last night's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Craven Cottage.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been one of Fulham's standout performers in 2011-12, and is now being heavily linked with a move away from west London.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in taking Dempsey to the Emirates Stadium, as Wenger looks to strengthen his squad with a view to mounting a renewed push for the Premier League title next year.
Robson feels the Cottagers star would fit in well in the north London surroundings, and says the Gunners should do everything they can to sign him this summer.
"Clint Dempsey is an excellent player," he said. "We have seen him score goals, whether it be from a wide position, whether it be from a centre-forward position, or whether it be from a withdrawn centre-forward position.
"He can score with his head, he can score with shots from outside the box, or from making runs into the box. If Arsenal could get him, he would be a great addition to the squad.
"He is more consistent than say Theo Walcott, though he hasn't got the same pace as [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott or Gervinho."
