Suarez bemoans Liverpool's misfortune

Published Add your comment

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez believes the team have been unlucky rather than wasteful in front of goal and is hopeful their fortune will change next season.

The Reds have scored just 40 goals in 33 league matches, which puts them on a par with 13th-placed West Brom although their record is slightly better than Everton, immediately above them in seventh. Conversely they have hit the frame of the goal 29 times in all competitions this season.

"When you shoot, you can look for the spaces between the posts and the goalkeeper," Suarez told LFC magazine. "But instinctively you usually aim for the corners, which means that there's a chance the ball might hit the post and I think we have hit the post more times than the crossbar."
