Colombian forward Jackson Martinez has claimed Liverpool are interested in signing him at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who plies his trade for Mexican side Jaguares, has been tipped to make a switch to one of Europe’s major sides and has reportedly been watched by numerous scouts from high profile clubs.
If Liverpool are genuinely interested in landing Martinez they may have to see off interest from Porto, who the striker claims are also interested in securing his services.
Martinez revealed that both Liverpool and Porto were interested in signing him, but admitted that he had not had any contact with either club as yet.
He told Colombian newspaper Nuevo Estadio: "I am not in any advanced negotiations with Liverpool or Porto but I know they are personally interested.
"I have not spoken to anyone and that goes for my club and my agent.
"In the next few months thinks should be finalised."
TalkSPORT reports that should either club’s interest come to fruition they would have to pay around £4 million for his services.
The Colombian forward has scored 17 goals in 31 games for his club side so far this season to help them claim ninth place in Mexico’s Primera Division.
