Manchester United and Arsenal will have to wait another year to sign Udinese’s exciting young forward Luis Muriel.
Muriel’s agent has claimed that his player need another year with the Serie A side before moving to Old Trafford or Emirates Stadium.
Both the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger and Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson were interested in Muriel, according to talkSPORT.
“In normal circumstances he will wear the shirt of Udinese next season,” Mauro Cesarini told La Gazzetto dello Sport.
“There are many rumours about English and Italian clubs but I have not had formal contact with any club.
“I think he needs to mature a year and his immediate future should be the Udinese although the club will have the last word.”
The Colombian is currently playing on loan at relegation battling side Lecce, but has been extremely impressive as they have turned their form around and looked to retain their Serie A status.
The report claims Udinese expected they would be moving him on after the season at Lecce, but they have changed tact after he became instrumental to their recent resurgence.
He has scored seven goals in 24 Serie A appearances but has also shown himself to be a threat when running at defenders.
