Chelsea have confirmed that Weder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin will join the club at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge in the summer for a fee believed to be around £8 million after agreeing personal terms with Chelsea.
Chelsea confirmed some details of the deal in a statement posted on their club website today.
It read: “Chelsea Football Club have today (Saturday) agreed to sign Marko Marin from Werder Bremen.
“Both clubs have agreed a fee and the 23-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms.
“Marin, a German international, will join Chelsea in the summer.”
Unconfirmed reports suggest former Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku, who arrived at Chelsea last summer, will head in the opposite direction on loan as part of the deal.
The German international has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham , who were reportedly interested in securing his services during the January transfer window. Inter Milan were also linked with a move for the playmaker.
Marin has made 21 appearances for Bremen this season in an injury-interrupted season, scoring one goal in the process, while he also has 16 caps for Germany and featured for his county at the 2010 World Cup.
