Louis Saha has admitted it is vital Tottenham makes big-name signings, not sales, this summer as the club digested the news Harry Redknapp had been snubbed in his bid to become England manager.

Redknapp looks set to remain Spurs' boss, with the Football Association expected to announce Roy Hodgson as Fabio Capello's successor in the next 48 hours.

Saha, who completed a surprise move to White Hart Lane on transfer deadline day in January, said it was "very important" Tottenham's squad was stronger next season."Especially when you're trying to win the championship," he added.
