The Football Association have confirmed the appointment of Roy Hodgson as England manager on a four-year deal.

The 64-year-old has won a total of eight league titles in a distinguished career spanning almost 35 years, taking in sixteen clubs from eight different countries.

Hodgson boasts a wealth of domestic and international experience, having had successful spells with Switzerland and Finland, as well as a brief stint in charge of the United Arab Emirates.

Joining from West Bromwich Albion, Hodgson has agreed a long-term contract to become the full-time manager of the Three Lions, and will lead the nation into competition at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine this summer.

The former Inter Milan, Blackburn, Fulham and Liverpool boss will take charge of England at Wembley for the first time on Saturday June 2, when the Three Lions take on Belgium.

Hodgson will remain in charge of the Baggies until the end of the season before officially taking charge of the national team on May 14.
