United plot £25m Porto winger deal

Manchester United are considering a £25million move for Porto winger James Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old Colombian international has made a big impact in Portugal since his move from Club Atletico Banfield two years ago, and is now tipped for a move to the Premier League.

Rodriguez has been dubbed 'the new Cristiano Ronaldo' and has already revealed he would be unable to resist a move to Old Trafford, should Sir Alex Ferguson come calling.

Manchester United snapped up Ronaldo as a promising talent from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, before eventually selling the Portuguese star to Real Madrid for £80million.

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils may look to sell former Porto midfielder Anderson in order to fund a move for the South American starlet.

The Brazilian has only started 11 games for the reigning Premier League champions this season, due to a chronic knee problem, with the club set to make a loss on the £18million paid to sign him in 2007.
