Benayoun prepares for Arsenal farewell

Yossi Benayoun is satisfied with his personal performance during his time as an Arsenal player.

The Israel international moved from Chelsea to the Emirates on loan and has been waiting for a chance to prove his qualities having made just nine league starts since his summer switch.

Benayoun has forced his way into Arsenal's first team of late however, with the 32-year-old starting in the Gunners last seven league outings as they go in search of Champions League qualification.

Arsene Wenger turned towards Benayoun when he was in desperate need of the experience that his side was lacking.

The midfielder scored the opener against Norwich last Saturday and hopes he will keep scoring goals in an Arsenal shirt until the season is over.

"I finish here in a good way. In the last few months I have been more involved", he said.

Although he wasn't involved in the opening stages of the campaign, Benayoun is happy to get some time on the pitch.

"Of course you want to play and you want to enjoy it and I think I have played a big part in the last few games. You always remember the end and I am happy with my performances in the last few months."

With the end of his loan spell fast approaching, the Israeli remains focused on Arsenal's goals for the season.

Wenger hasn't expressed any desire to make Benayoun's move to the Emirates permanent as yet. The Frenchman's ideologies on footballers' ages are well-known but nothing is official yet, and the midfielder is in no rush.

"Since I came to Arsenal I have always been committed to one club until the last game of the season. The only thing I want is for Arsenal to finish in third place, I don't care about anything else", he said.

"When I finish I will have to decide about my future. I am supposed to go back to Chelsea first and then we will see what the future holds", he added.
