Liverpool midfielder Maxi Rodriguez is ready to cancel the remainder of his contract after growing tired of his lack of playing time at the Anfield club this season.

Kenny Dalglish has used the Argentina international sparingly this term, preferring to use Stewart Downing, Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy as his wide men.

The 31-year-old has made only 19 appearances in all competitions for the Reds this year, scoring six goals, but the Liverpool manager has been reluctant to deploy him other than in games against less prestigious opponents.

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder is now ready to write off the final year of his contract in order to get more playing time, according to the Daily Mail.

Rodriguez is an Argentina regular and the report claims a number of clubs form Spain and his homeland have been monitoring his availability.

He joined Liverpool from La Liga side Atletico on a free transfer in 2010 and had a productive season last year, scoring ten league goals.

However, he has apparently fallen out of favour with Dalglish and looks set to leave this summer.
