Livermore ready for 'crunch' game

Published Add your comment

Tottenham Hotspur star Jake Livermore insists his side are full of confidence going into their crunch game with Fulham.

Victory for Spurs over their London rivals would secure fourth spot and a Champions League place. However, a Chelsea victory over Bayern Munich would bump the fourth placed team out of next year's Champions League, giving the Blues the final qualifying spot.

As a result, Livermore hopes a Spurs win would keep alive their slim hopes of finishing third and the safety of a guaranteed Champions League qualification place. If Tottenham beat Fulham and Arsenal fail to win against West Brom at the Hawthorns, third place will go to Spurs.

Speaking to tottenhamhotspur.com, Livermore said: "The lads are confident and we're all looking forward to putting in a big performance."

Fifth-placed Newcastle are also still in the hunt for a qualification spot and the Magpies play Everton at Goodison Park.

But Livermore, who has 23 Premier League appearances this season in a successful campaign for the youngster, is focused soley on securing three points at White Hart Lane.

"These are the games all us Tottenham players want to be involved in, fighting for a place in the Champions League," said the 22-year-old. " We know it will be a tough game. Martin Jol will have his team organised, so we'd love to get an early goal and build on that."
