HEADLINES

The FA have announced Roy Hodgson's Euro 2012 England squad, with defenders Rio Ferdinand and Micah Richards the surprise omissions.

Young players including Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck have been called up, while former England captain John Terry retains his place in the squad.

Alex Oxlade-Chamerlain is a surprise inclusion, as is Stewart Downing, who did not score or provide an assist for Liverpool all season.

Andy Carroll has also earned a place as one of four strikers, with Wayne Rooney suspended for the first two group games of the tournament.
