Arsenal are still interested in signing France international Yann M'Vila this summer, but have reportedly been put of by Rennes' valuation of the midfielder.
M'Vila would appear destined to leave the Route de Lorient for pastures new during the summer transfer window, and the 21-year-old will have no shortage of suitors.
Arsenal are reportedly chief among those chasing his signature, and Arsene Wenger is keen to bring the Frenchman to the Emirates Stadium before the European Championships.
However, according to The Mirror, the Gunners are being priced out of any potential deal for M'Vila, and have no intention of meeting Rennes' demands of £17 million.
The priority for Arsenal this summer, however, will be to retain the services of captain Robin van Persie, who is out of contract at the end of next season.
Van Persie met with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis on Wednesday, and reportedly told them he was not prepared to sign a new deal.
