Eden Hazard was expected to announce a move to either Manchester City or Manchester United on Sunday evening, but instead hinted that he could yet sign for Chelsea.
The Belgian winger was the star turn during his final game for Lille, scoring three and setting up another, and it was believed he would reveal his new club after the match.
However, when questioned by French television about a proposed move to either the Etihad Stadium or Old Trafford, Hazard claimed a deal was yet to be struck with City or United.
But, to add yet another twist to this drawn out transfer saga, Hazard said he would also now consider the interest of Chelsea, following the Stamford Bridge club's dramatic Champions League triumph on Saturday night.
“That’s possible," he told Canal+ when asked if he could join Chelsea. "But until I pen to paper I won’t say where I’m going.
“Of course it makes you think as Chelsea have won the Champions League.
"They’re a big team and will be playing in the Champions League next season."
City and United had been the favourites to land the 21-year-old during the transfer window but, it would appear, Chelsea are now very much in the mix.
