Manchester United are edging ever nearer to completing a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Shinji Kagawa this summer, it has been claimed.
The 23-year-old played a pivotal part in ensuring BVB claimed a league and cup double for the first time in their history, although the Japan international has informed the club that he will not be extending his contract.
Manchester United have frequently been linked with Kagawa in recent weeks and, it would appear, a move to Old Trafford is imminent for the Dortmund star.
According to German publication Kicker, the two sides are close to agreeing an initial €15 million fee, which stands to rise to €22 million with added clauses.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said 'some details are still to be confirmed' but a deal is expected to be reached in the coming weeks, and Kagawa could prove to be United's first signing of the summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson had tried desperately to make Eden Hazard his first capture of the transfer window, but the Lille youngster instead decided to sign for Chelsea.
