Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has predicted big things for Eden Hazard when he completes his move to Chelsea.
The Gunners vice-captain was speaking ahead of the international friendly between England and Belgium, with both players expected to start the game.
Hazard’s protracted departure from Lille had worked up a media storm and so there has been much publicity since he confirmed he would be moving to Stamford Bridge.
Vermaelen has played with the 21-year-old a number of times and is confident spectators in England will enjoy his displays for the Blues.
“He is a great player with a lot of special qualities,” the defender was quoted as saying by Metro.
“People will love him and love watching him playing football, so I think he is a good player for the Premier League.”
While Chelsea have yet to formally announce the signing of Hazard from the Lille, reports claim the fee will be in the region of £32million and he will receive wages worth £100,000 a week in a five-year deal.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich was reportedly handling the deal personally, managing to beat both Manchester United and Manchester City to the exciting young playmaker’s signature.
