Arsenal are to hold talks over a possible deal for CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia, according to the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international scored 38 goals for the Russian side last season, and has subsequently attracted interest from a number of top English clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester City.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had been planning a move for Montpellier's French international forward Olivier Giroud, who was believed to be the north London club's primary target following the acquisition of Lukas Podolski.
However, Arsenal have now turned their attention to Doumbia, despite the African ace being valued at a whopping £26million.
Wenger remains confident that the figure can be negotiated to bring it within the club's transfer budget, in order to make a summer move to the Emirates Stadium possible.
Doumbia is an international teammate of Gervinho, and the club may look to the Gunners forward to convince the prospective target his long-term future would be best served in the Premier League with Arsenal.
