Johan Djourou has revealed he is considering furthering his career away from Arsenal after finding opportunities at the Emirates Stadium becoming increasingly limited.

The 25-year-old is very much a squad player at Arsenal, and has been unable to nail down a regular starting position at either centre-back or full-back.

Djourou made only 14 starts in the Premier League as Arsenal finished third, although he committed his future to the club until 2015 when he signed a new contract in February.

However, the Swiss realises his lack of action is affecting his aspirations at international level and would be willing to leave north London if the right offer arrived.

"My situation at Arsenal is not easy," Djourou told Swiss website 20 Minuten. "I've never played so little and especially not in my own position. If an interesting offer comes, I'll look at it carefully."

Djourou joined Arsenal's academy from Étoile Carouge when he was a teenager and made his first team debut two years later.

The Swiss has since made a further 154 appearances for the Gunners, while he spent a spell on loan with Birmingham City in the 2007-08 season.
