Chelsea are reportedly poised to bring Brazilian striker Hulk to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £38million.
The Guardian claim that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has instructed a facilitator to agree a deal with the player’s club, Porto, and that the transfer should be agreed once a medical has been completed.
The Brazil international was being linked with a move to Chelsea when his former coach at the Portuguese champions, Andre Villas-Boas, moved to Stamford Bridge last summer.
However, he will be hoping his stay in west London doesn’t follow a similar path and he is expected to form part of a new look Chelsea forward line with other imminent new signing Eden Hazard.
The report claims that Hulk’s much talked about release clause was actually €60miillion, not the €100million Porto officials and his agent were so readily bandying about.
The 25-year-old, full name Givanildo Vieira de Souza, will take Chelsea’s summer spending to over £70million when added to the £32million capture of Hazard and an undisclosed fee, reportedly in the region of £7million, for German midfielder Marko Marin.
