Shinji Kagawa will return to Old Trafford next week and complete his transfer to Manchester United.

The Daily Star claims the Red Devils have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund worth £14million and possibly rising to £20million depending on appearances and add-ons.

Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly sought a prompt end to the dealings after missing out on Eden Hazard, who opted to join Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Kagawa is currently away on international duty with Japan for World Cup qualifiers against Oman and Jordan, so he has been unable to put pen to paper on a contract worth a reported £60,000 a week.

The 23-year-old has just a year left on his current deal with the Bundesliga champions, but the club agreed to sell after Kagawa told them he would not be signing an extension to the deal.

Kagawa had a successful season last year and was integral in Jurgen Klopp’s side retaining the league title.
