Chelsea look set to continue their summer spending by making a move for Everton’s Marouane Fellaini, according to the Mirror.
Chelsea have already secured deals for Werder Bremen’s Marko Marin as well as Lille’s Eden Hazard, while an agreement with Porto over Brazilian forward Hulk is said to be very close.
With owner Roman Abramovich fueling the summer splurge after witnessing his side lift the Champions League trophy last month, Fellaini is said to be next on his radar to add some steel to the Blues attacking flair.
The Everton enforcer has established himself as the heartbeat of David Moyes’ side since making the move to Merseyside from Standard Liege for £15 million in 2008.
Should they be successful in landing Fellaini, he would mark the latest in a long of Belgians to make their way to Stamford Bridge, with Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois and now Eden Hazard all plying their trade in West London.
Earlier this month Everton and England defender Phil Jagielka admitted it would be a huge blow to the Toffees should Fellaini leave the club, but said they couldn’t afford to pass up the money should a big club come calling.
