Liverpool have been told they must fork over £9 million if they wish to land Lyon full-back Aly Cissokho this summer, according to TalkSPORT.
Liverpool are said on the look out for a left-back to challenge Luis Enrique for a starting spot after the Spaniard’s form dipped dramatically towards the tail end of last season, and have reportedly identified the 25-year-old as the man for the job.
Cissokho, who moved from Porto to France in 2009 for just over £12 million, is believed to be available – but only at the right price.
TalkSport report that Lyon are not willing to let the French international, who claimed his one and only cap back in 2009, go on the cheap and want to recuperate much of the fee they paid out three years ago.
Liverpool may face a challenge for his signature from Napoli who are also said to be interested, while in the past his agent Ali Barat revealed the 24-year-old would prefer a move to Manchester United if possible.
With new manager Brendan Rodgers on board two weeks after former boss Kenny Dalglish left the Merseyside club, the Reds are excpected to firm up their summer transfer plans in the coming weeks.
