Arsenal rookie Oguzhan Ozyakup has signed for Besiktas, the Turkish club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old midfielder first moved to north London in 2008, and made two senior appearances for the club, as well as featuring as an unused substitute in the 8-2 hammering at Manchester United last season.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had high hopes for Ozyakup, but after the player grew tired of his lack of first-team opportunities, has opted to leave the Emirates Stadium in favour of pastures new in Turkey.
After passing a medical at Besiktas this morning, it was confirmed that Arsenal will receive a 20 per cent sell-on fee from any future move for the talented youngster, having been nurtured in London Colney for the past four years.
Ozyakup had 12 months still to run on his contract with the Premier League club, but after an offer in the region of €700,000 was made for the Turkish U21 international, Wenger agreed to his sale.
