HEADLINES

UEFA will investigate allegations of racist abuse during Spain v Italy and Russia v Czech Republic at Euro 2012 it has been announced.

Mario Balotelli was a victim of abuse during Italy's opening game against Spain on Saturday, while there are continuing reports of racist chanting .

This afternoon in Poland and Ukraine, Greece face the Czech Republic, who a result if they are to avoid becoming the first team knocked out of the tournament.

Russia meanwhile will be looking to build on their impressive opening win when they meet co-hosts Poland in this evening's fixture.

TRANSFER NEWS

Zenit St Petersburg have opened talks with Arsenal about bringing Russia captain Andrey Arshavin back to the club. (Metro)

Brendan Rodgers wants Salomon Kalou to replace Dirk Kuyt at Anfield, with the Ivorian available for free after leaving Chelsea. (The Mirror)
