Chelsea have made Borussia Dortmund right-back Lukasz Piszczek their number one summer transfer target after watching him impress for Poland.
The full-back was in fine form for the co-hosts at Euro 2012, but couldn't help his side overcome Czech Republic in their final group game as they crashed out. The Dortmund right-back was an ever present during the tournament, as he was for his club during their Bundesliga winning campaign.
According to talkSPORT, new Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has drawn up a list of candidates to fill the role vacated by Jose Bosingwa. And top of the shortlist is thought to be Piszczek, followed by Ajax full-back Greogory van der Wiel and Manchester United youngster Rafael da Silva.
The 27-year-old Piszczek completed the league and cup double with Dortmund, and Chelsea scouts have reportedly been impressed by his performances in a Poland shirt this summer.
Dortmund are believed to value the player around £15million, but Chelsea are thought to willing to part with £6million, so agreeing a fee could prove difficult. But reports suggest Chelsea may look to agree a knock-down fee by offering to send Romelu Lukaku on loan to the German champions as part of the deal.
