Lionel Messi, regarded by many as the greatest player in football history, celebrates his 25th birthday today.
The diminutive Argentine international has taken the world by storm since bursting onto the scene at Barcelona in 2004, making his international debut the following year and racking up 70 caps to-date already.
Despite a lack of major trophies in the 2011/12 season, Messi enjoyed the greatest individual campaign in history, scoring 73 goals in all competitions for the Blaugrana, including a strike in the 3-0 Copa del Rey final victory over Athletic Bilbao back in May.
For club, Messi has five La Liga and three Champions League winners medals, with an Olympic gold medal from Beijing 2008 also in the cabinet.
Individually, three consecutive Ballon d’Or trophies have helped Messi cement his place as world football’s best player, an honour Cristiano Ronaldo challenges him for year-on-year.
To celebrate Messi’s big day, we look back at all of his goals from last season, be it from the penalty spot, with his head or from distance. The 25-year-old does it all.
