Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted at an interest in bringing German starlet Marco Reus to Emirates Stadium.

The 21-year-old scored Germany’s fourth in the 4-2 Euro 2012 quarter-final win over Greece on Friday night and Wenger was watching in his capacity as a pundit for French television.

The Gunners tactician was purring over the performance of the young forward and when asked by fellow analyst Bixente Lizarazu if he was ‘On the case’, Wenger replied ‘Yes.’

However, signing Reus may have to be a long-term project for Arsenal as his transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach to Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund was confirmed in January.

Reus will join his new teammates once Germany’s time in Poland and Ukraine comes to an end.

He agreed a £14million transfer, signing a contract until 2017, and is likely to become an important part of Jurgen Klopp’s side as they try to win their third title in a row.
