Liverpool are reportedly ready to bid for France number one Hugo Lloris, as they fear they are set to lose Pepe Reina.

According to The Mirror, new Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers wants the Lyon man if AC Milan manage to succeed in their bid for the Reds Spanish ‘keeper.

Lloris is highly regarded across Europe and the Merseysiders will unlikely be the only suitors should the French club decide they are willing to sell.

Reina I currently away at Euro 2012 with Spain and will be preparing for tomorrow’s final with Italy, they knocked out Les Bleus in the quarter-finals.

Lloris captained the French side in a campaign that was reportedly beset by infighting, bringing back painful memories of the farcical scenes at World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

The report claims that Reina is being chased by the Serie A side as a possible replacement for the ageing Christian Abbiati, who is current number one at San Siro.
