Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is close to joining a 'top club' this summer, according to his agent.

The Denmark international is not in Arsene Wenger's plans for next season, and has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

And the player's agent, Tom Brookes, insists the Gunners forward will end up at a big club this summer.

"Nicklas is a top striker, who just proved himself at the Euros," Brookes told Ekstra Bladet. "I'm certain that he is going to end up at a top club, but I'm not going to be drawn into speculation."

Bendtner has been linked with La Liga side Malaga in the past, as well as Turkish outift Galatasaray, but the 24-year-old currently remains an Arsenal player.

The Danish forward has two years left on his contract, and spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

But Arsenal have made it clear that Bendtner is not in their long-term plans, and the Gunners have already signed two replacements.

Germany international Lukas Podolski has been brought in, along with French target man Olivier Giroud, and Wenger is fighting hard to keep hold of club captain and star striker Robin van Persie.

With so many forwards in front of the Dane in the Arsenal pecking order, a move away from north London looks his best bet to secure first-team football.
