Members clubs have "overwhelmingly" voted against newco Rangers application to join the Scottish First Division after talks at Hampden today.

England has moved up to No4 in the FIFA World Rankings, despite defeat in the Euro 2012 quarter-finals on penalties to Italy.

Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Daniel Sturridge is suffering from viral meningitis, with the Chelsea striker a doubt for London 2012.

Di Matteo though said he is optimistic Sturridge will recover in time to play for the Team GB football team at the London 2012 Olympics.


Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim, the club have confirmed.(BBC)
