West Ham were beaten 3-1 by Austria Vienna in their first pre-season friendly fixture.

Sam Baldock gave the Premier League newcomers a fourth-minute lead at the Franz Horr Stadium when he headed in Carlton Cole's cross.

However, Roland Linz and Dare Vrsic netted within the space of three minutes midway through the first half and substitute Tomas Jun's goal 15 minutes from time made sure of a home victory.
