Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has reportedly told Chelsea they will have to pay him a salary in line with the club's top earners if they want to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 25-year-old Uruguay international is being considered as one of a number of possible replacements for Didier Drogba and has outlined what he expects from the club, should they formalise a £35 million approach.

According to the Daily Mail, Cavani has requested pay parity with the likes of Fernando Torres, John Terry and Frank Lampard, all of whom top the club's wage structure on £150,000-per-week.

Cavani has been linked with Chelsea for some time and would certainly make an able replacement for Drogba, having scored 94 goals in 66 times during his time in Naples.

The former Palermo forward has also been tracked by Italian champions Juventus, and could be Napoli's second high-profile departure of the summer following the sale of Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain.
