Tottenham are reportedly pursuing Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao as Andre Villas-Boas sets about further reinforcing the squad he inherited from Harry Redknapp.

The Portuguese has already overseen the acquisitions of Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen, and Falcao is one of the most prominent names on the wishlist of the former Chelsea manager.

Villas-Boas previously worked with Falcao during his all-conquering season in charge of Porto, during which the Colombian striker scored 38 goals in 42 appearances.

This potent streak was enough to earn Falcao a €40 million move to Madrid after Villas-Boas left Porto for Chelsea, and the 34-year-old is now keen to be reunited with his former charge.

According to the Daily Mail, Villas-Boas has his eye on Falcao along with Internacional striker Leandro Damiao as he scours the market for goalscoring reinforcements.

Jermain Defoe is the only senior striker currently on the books at White Hart Lane, although the England international is expected to be joined by Emmanuel Adebayor in the coming days.
