Brendan Rodgers has admitted Liverpool have made enquires about signing Fulham and USA international midfielder Clint Dempsey.

Rodgers also revealed he will not allow Andy Carroll to leave the club on loan - but would be willing to sell if a "worthwhile" offer was made.

Andre Villas-Boas says he will only let Luka Modric leave Spurs if their asking price is met - with the club reported to value the Croatian at £35m.

Elsewhere, Lionel Messi says he believe that both Andre Iniesta and Xavi deserve to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or after their Euro 2012 triumph with Spain.
